Welcome!

I’m so glad you’re here.

I hope you’ll stay a while and read some stories, browse some of my favorite recipes, and feel free to be yourself.

Cocktail Friday: A Round-up + A Little Crested Butte

Crested Butte Fall 2013 :: Set the Table I am spending a few days in Crested Butte on what is a combination work/mommy retreat. This is the first time since before I got pregnant with Riley that I have had more than 24 hours to think of nothing but myself. I was far overdue for this; I'm realizing that now. I love- LOVE- being a mom and wife but sometimes we all need a little time to remember how to take care of ourselves and no one else. Today it is raining and snowing and I am sitting by the fire reading, editing photos, doing nothing, and drinking hot apple cider.

As I drove from Denver to Crested Butte yesterday, I stopped whenever I felt like it. Usually, it was to take a picture of the shockingly bright yellow aspen leaves among the pine trees at the higher elevations. Other times it was just to stretch my legs and walk the dog for a while. I took deep breaths, thought about what I wanted (or didn't want) to do next, and started to remember how that process works when it's just me. Well, me and the dog.

Today, instead of taking the time to make and photograph a cocktail for you, I've let some other people do the work. These are some of my very favorite cocktail images from my Pinterest board, Thirsty. There are plenty more, so check out the board if you can't get enough here.

It's the perfect time of year to start thinking of Mulled Wine and this image from The Flourishing Foodie has me ready raring to go. Wouldn't this be beautiful for an autumn party?

And what could be more perfect than a Honeycrisp apple cocktail? This Honeycrisp Apple Daquiri from Daydreamer Desserts is on my list of things to make ASAP when I can get my hands on some fresh apples.

This Fig Thyme cocktail that Todd from HonestlyYUM posted a while back has been on my mind for quite some time. Isn't it just lovely? I have tons of thyme in my garden right now that should probably be used to make many of these.

Find the recipe at HonestlyYUM.fig.thyme_.7.1

So, I'm going to get back to doing WHATEVER I WANT. In the meantime, I'd love to know what your favorite cocktail boards are on Pinterest! Any suggestions for who to follow? Or do you have any favorite cocktails you've been wanting to try?

Happy Friday everyone! Enjoy your weekend!
